Solar Floodlights & PIR Lighting
What it is
Solar security lighting pairs a high-output LED floodlight with a PIR motion sensor, a battery and a solar panel. It charges by day. It then switches on when it senses movement, or holds a dusk-to-dawn glow. Because nothing wires back to a consumer unit, no metered electricity sits behind it.
Sudden bright light is one of the most effective and cheapest ways to deter opportunist theft. It also sharpens night-time camera footage a great deal. Additionally, you can adjust how sensitive, how long and how bright each light is. A gateway, a path and a loading bay can each have their own settings.

Think about neighbours before you fit a floodlight. Under section 79 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, artificial light can be a statutory nuisance in England and Wales. Government guidance says councils set no fixed light levels. Instead, they weigh how often, how long, when and where the light shines.

How bright are solar security lights?
Modern solar floodlights use efficient LEDs that light a yard, gateway or car-park bay with ease. We do not sell a one-size-fits-all fitting. Instead, we match the lumen output and beam spread to the area you need covered during the survey.
Will solar lighting work in winter?
Yes. Like solar cameras, the lights charge from daylight and store it in a battery. We specify the panel and battery so motion-triggered lighting keeps working through the darker months, when you need it most.
Can lighting and cameras work together?
That is the ideal setup. PIR lighting that triggers on approach deters intruders and floods the scene with light. As a result, your solar cameras capture a usable, identifiable image instead of a dark blur. We design the two together.
