Solar CCTV Cameras
What it is
A solar CCTV camera combines a weatherproof HD or 4K camera, a rechargeable battery and a solar panel in one unit. The panel tops up the battery in daylight, including the diffuse light of a British winter. As a result, the camera runs day and night without a mains connection or an electrician.
Footage records to a local SD card or NVR, or to the cloud. You also get PIR motion detection, colour night vision and two-way audio. Where there is WiFi, the camera joins your network. Most farms, paddocks and remote compounds have none, so the camera signals over 4G with a SIM and still sends live view and alerts to your phone.

Do solar CCTV cameras work through a UK winter?
Yes, because solar cameras charge from daylight rather than direct sunshine. They keep working on grey, overcast days. We size the panel and battery to your site and workload, with headroom for short winter days. That sizing is what separates a professional install from an undersized DIY kit.
What happens at night or on cloudy days?
The battery carries the camera overnight and through cloudy spells. It recharges whenever there is daylight. Because a correctly specified system holds several days of reserve, a run of dark weather does not take the camera offline.
Do I need WiFi or broadband?
No. Where WiFi exists, the camera uses it. Where it does not, a 4G model with a SIM sends live view and motion alerts over the mobile network. This suits remote and rural sites, since no broadband is needed.
Is the footage stored securely?
Footage sits on encrypted local storage (SD or NVR), in an encrypted cloud account, or both. Only your app login opens it. We set this up and hand it over during installation.
