Q. Is there a limit to the number of sensors I can use?
A. There is no limit to the number of sensors the alarm system can have as long as they are all in range. We carry Range Extenders should you need to place a sensor a little further away from the others.
Q. My neighbour has a wireless AEI alarm. If I buy one, will it interfere with theirs and visa-versa?
A. Each part of the alarm system (remote, control panel, sensors etc) uses 9 switches so that you can choose a specific combination of nine 'on' or 'off' switches for your system making it highly unlikely to interfere with you neighbours alarm.
Q. Will outside radio frequencies such as car alarms affect my wireless alarm system?
A. This is extremely unlikely due to a vast range of radio frequencies and the combination of the 9 switches you use to set up your alarm system.
Q. Can I set different zones which can be turned on and off?
A. Yes you can if you add a control panel to the SG1200ARM2 or buy the SG5850 or SG4000.
Q. Are these alarm systems pet friendly?
A. Unfortunately they are not 'pet safe'. It is possible however to 'exclude' particular areas within the house using the alarm system. You could exclude a particular room which your dog or cat uses or even the whole of the upstairs so that you can still keep the ground floor alarmed at night when you are sleeping if you add a control panel to the SG1200ARM2 or buy the SG5850 or SG4000.
Q. I have a SG5850 or SG4000 which uses a control panel which needs to be connected to a plug socket. If there is a power cut will it the alarm still work?
A. Yes. The control panels contain a backup battery which will work for 2-3 days without power.
Q. Will the auto dial feature of the SG4000 work with my household answer phone?
A. If you use a household answer phone the auto dial will still work and the system will phone you if your alarm has been triggered. However, when you ring your house phone, either the answer phone will work or the listen in feature will depending on which one is set up to answer after the shortest number of rings.
Q. Is it best to fit the external solar powered siren box to a south facing wall even though it is at the back of my house and cannot be seen from the street?
A. Yes. Always fit the external solar powered siren box on a south facing (or as near as possible) wall. Why not fit a Dummy Bellbox to a wall which is can be seen from the street. This will act as a highly visual deterrent to passers by.
